HighLevel Project Management, the upcoming native project and task tool, first look

HighLevel Project Management Is Coming: First Look

October 30, 2026

Of everything HighLevel unveiled at LevelUp 2026, one upcoming feature should matter more to agencies than almost any flashy AI demo: native Project Management is coming to the platform. It is in private beta right now, and when it lands it closes a gap every agency knows too well. Your client work lives in Asana, ClickUp or Monday, your client communication and data live in HighLevel, and the two never quite talk to each other. Here is a first look at what is coming, what it does, and why it is worth paying attention to.

Everything below is based on what HighLevel has shared about the private beta on its official LevelUp Day 2026 page and in the beta documentation. It is still early, so some details will change before general release, but the shape of the feature is already clear. For the full list of what else was announced, see our complete LevelUp 2026 recap.

What is HighLevel Project Management?

HighLevel Project Management is a native project and task management tool built directly into the platform, currently available in private beta. It lets you plan projects, track tasks through clear status stages, automate task creation from your existing workflows, and manage all of it with AI, without leaving HighLevel or paying for a separate tool like Asana or ClickUp. In short, the place you already run client communication and marketing is about to be the place you run the work itself.

Why this matters for agencies

Tool sprawl is one of the quiet taxes on every agency. You pay for HighLevel, then a separate project tool, then you spend time copying information between them and chasing updates across both. Worse, your project data sits completely disconnected from the CRM, so a completed onboarding task does not trigger anything in your client communication, and a new lead does not spin up a project. Bringing project management inside HighLevel means the work, the client record, the automations and the communication finally live in one system. For agencies running SaaS Mode, it also means you can eventually offer project management to your own clients as part of your platform rather than sending them elsewhere.

What is confirmed so far

The private beta already shows the parts that make this more than a basic task list. Four things stand out.

Build and manage projects with Ask AI

You can build a project or update tasks using plain-language prompts through Ask AI. Tell it what you want and it proposes the change, but here is the important part: each proposed change produces a confirmation card showing the before-and-after values, so nothing runs without your approval. That is the right way to ship AI into a tool people rely on. You get the speed of describing work in a sentence, without the risk of an AI silently reorganising your projects behind your back.

Workflow automations that connect to everything else

This is where native beats standalone. Project Management plugs into HighLevel workflows with new triggers that fire when a task is added, when a task is completed, or when a task reaches its reminder date, plus a new Add Task action that creates tasks automatically. In practice that means a signed contract can automatically create an onboarding project, a completed deliverable can trigger a client update, and a missed reminder can escalate to a team member. Your project tool and your CRM finally act as one system instead of two.

Clear status stages

Tasks move through a clean set of status groups: Not Started, Active, Done and Closed. Closed is system-defined and cannot be customised, which keeps reporting consistent, while the others give you a simple, familiar pipeline for work. It is deliberately not overcomplicated, which for most agency work is exactly right.

Built for builders: a full API and MCP access

For the technical crowd, this is the headline. Project Management is accessible through the HighLevel Public API for sub-accounts in the private beta, with 45 endpoints across 8 API groups, using a Version: v3 header once the beta is enabled on the sub-account. On top of that, it supports MCP, so compatible AI clients like Claude or Cursor can connect through a hosted endpoint with OAuth sign-in, and notably without needing a local VPN. That means you can manage HighLevel projects directly from an AI assistant, which is the same direction HighLevel took with its AI Studio GitHub sync. The platform is clearly committing to being something developers and AI tools can build on properly.

How it fits the bigger LevelUp 2026 picture

Project Management is not a one-off. It is part of HighLevel's broader push at LevelUp 2026 to become a full operating system for a business rather than just a CRM, alongside native Ticketing, Meeting Rooms, Events and the new industry operating systems. The through-line is AI and consolidation: fewer separate tools, more of your business running in one place, with AI able to act across all of it. We broke down the whole slate in our LevelUp 2026 announcements recap and the day-one releases in our first-wave post.

How to get access

Project Management is in private beta, which means it is not yet available to every account and there is no public general-release date confirmed. Access is through HighLevel's private beta sign-up, and a sub-account needs the Project Management Beta switched on before the API and features become available. If it is central to how you run your agency, it is worth registering interest early so you can test it with real client work and shape your processes around it before competitors do. We will update this post as HighLevel confirms wider availability.

What we would actually use it for

The value is not the feature, it is what you do with it. The obvious wins for an agency are client onboarding projects that spin up automatically when a deal closes, deliverable tracking that triggers client updates as tasks complete, and internal work that finally sits next to the client record it belongs to. Done well, it removes an entire tool from your stack and a whole category of copy-paste busywork from your week. That is exactly the kind of platform change our team helps agencies actually implement rather than just read about. Frequently asked questions

What is HighLevel Project Management?

It is a native project and task management tool being built into HighLevel, currently in private beta. It lets you plan projects, track tasks through status stages, automate task creation through workflows, and manage everything with AI, without leaving HighLevel or paying for a separate tool like Asana or ClickUp.

Is HighLevel Project Management available yet?

Not to everyone. It is in private beta, accessed through HighLevel's beta sign-up, and a sub-account needs the Project Management Beta enabled to use it. HighLevel has not confirmed a public general-release date, so for now it is an upcoming feature you can request early access to.

Can AI manage projects in HighLevel?

Yes. Ask AI can build projects and update tasks from plain-language prompts, and every change is shown as a confirmation card with before-and-after values so nothing runs without your approval. It also supports MCP, so AI clients like Claude or Cursor can connect and manage projects directly.

Does HighLevel Project Management have an API?

Yes. In the private beta it is accessible through the HighLevel Public API for sub-accounts, with 45 endpoints across 8 API groups, using a Version: v3 header once the beta is enabled. There is also MCP support through a hosted endpoint with OAuth sign-in, without needing a local VPN.

Will it replace Asana, ClickUp or Monday?

For many agencies, it can. The big advantage is that your project data sits next to the client record and connects to HighLevel workflows natively, so a closed deal can create a project and a completed task can trigger a client update. Whether it fully replaces a dedicated tool depends on how complex your project needs are, but it removes the disconnect between your work and your CRM.

How do I get the Project Management beta?

Through HighLevel's private beta sign-up for the feature, after which the Project Management Beta is enabled on your sub-account. If it matters to how you run your agency, registering interest early lets you test it with real client work before it is widely available.

The bottom line

HighLevel Project Management is one of the most practical things coming out of LevelUp 2026. It is not trying to be the flashiest feature, it is trying to remove a tool from your stack and connect your work to your CRM, with AI and a real API on top. It is still in private beta with no public date yet, but the direction is clear and the agencies that get in early will have their processes built around it first. You can get started with HighLevel here, and if you want the team behind 1,200+ agencies to set it all up when it lands, our LevelUp offer is live now.
